The Mike Swiderski Mentoring Program was established in honor of a remarkable leader who had a profound impact on many lives during his 39-year career at Amsted Industries. His passion for mentoring and helping others grow continues to inspire us today.
Designed to accelerate the development of Amsted’s high-potential leaders, this 18-month program offers structured mentorship with comprehensive training and measurable goals to ensure success. Participants benefit from both one-on-one mentorship and group events, including workshops that foster valuable exchanges of ideas and experiences.
While the time commitment is flexible, it’s recommended that mentor-mentee pairs meet at least two hours per month and connect in person once a quarter. After the 18-month period, formal support concludes, but participants are encouraged to continue their mentorship informally.
“This program is one more offering in our continuous commitment to the development of our leaders here at Amsted, while at the same time honoring Mike’s legacy.”

Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
It is our goal that upon completion of the Mike Swiderski Mentoring Program, mentees will have enhanced critical leadership skills such as:
Mike Swiderski was a dedicated leader at Amsted Industries, serving in various roles throughout his career, including Human Resources, Operations, and Supply Chain. Over the years, he became president of three Amsted entities: Diamond Chain, Baltimore Aircoil Company, and ConMet. A University of Alabama graduate, Mike was passionate about people and always believed in the importance of fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. He viewed mentoring and coaching as a key part of his role, helping countless individuals advance in their careers.
Even after retiring in 2019 due to illness, Mike continued to mentor many within the company, including current leadership. His genuine care for others extended beyond their professional lives; he sought to understand their personal lives as well, always asking, “How is your partner?” or “How are your children?” This deep level of care made him an exceptional mentor and a beloved figure at Amsted.
We are proud to carry forward Mike’s legacy through this program, ensuring that his commitment to mentoring and leadership development continues to thrive at Amsted Industries.
